The Return of the Taylor

Ok.... So you may all be wondering: Where the heck has Taylor been? Well that's what this Blog is about....
THE RETURN OF THE TAYLOR.

It all started when Dad went on Spring Break. It was two of the greatest weeks ever. I've got a good picture of what we did most of the time. But don't worry, we did other stuff too.

I got to see my Aunt Gena for the first time in a long time. She lives in Arizona. Dad says that's in the middle of the desert. Me and Mom love dessert. Because of this fact I was really excited to see her again. She is a real hoot. We played a lot together. One morning I woke up and she and Dad had brought be a bunch of balloons from my favorite restaraunt, Red Robin. I have never had so much fun in all my life (or static electricity for that matter).

Over the break I also discovered a great place called the Park. Holy Cow! Playgrounds are fun. I had my first go on a swing. I tried out the slide. I crawled in a tunnel. I climbed on some bars. When I had played on all of the equipment, I decided that it would even be fun to tromp around in the grass a bit. (Did I mention that I crawl now? Yeah... I do.)

So that was Spring Break. It was great to hang out with Dad and Mom and just be a family. We played and traveled and enjoyed fine foods. We definately have to have more Spring Breaks.

Since then I've been involved in a few activities. Just a few minor activities like managing Dad's campaign for ASB President of the Chiropractic College. I won it for him. I started swimming lessons too. Oh.... they're not for me. They're for Dad. I'm just there to support him.

Taylor Helps Out

Usually I'm doing some pretty fun stuff on a regular basis. I play with toys, read (or chew on) books, count apples and as you know I love going out. Like just this week I went to interactive story time at the public library. It was captivating!

But it isn't always fun and games. Sometimes we have to get some of the necessities done. So I decided that I would help Mom and Dad with some of their chores. Our apartment isn't the biggest but there sure is plenty of stuff to clean. I mopped the bathroom. I even did a little bit of spot cleaning for the tough spots. I washed the sink until it was spic and span. After I got done with the bathroom I went on to sweep up the entryway. And of course the dishes needed cleaning so I loaded up the dishwasher too. Mom just kept playing around but I stayed nice and busy as you can see.

Dad didn't help us out very much because he had to study for final exams next week at chiropractic school. That's all he ever does anymore. Its ok because it means I get to go to Grandma's more often, or me and Mom go out. But I got to feeling sorry for the old guy today so I decided I'd help him out some. I had to sing him that leg bone's connected to the knee bone song a few times. He said it helped him out a lot but we'll see how his grades turn out.

Well after a long day of hard work I thought it would be appropriate to kick back and relax with some juice and watch a Disney movie. Because all work and no play, makes Taylor a dull girl.

Mom Gets a Hobby

Great news! Dad is always telling Mom, "Babe, you need a hobby." Now, I don't know what a hobby is, but Dad says they are healthy. So you can imagine how happy we all were whenever Mom announced that she had one. Mom said she wanted to declarate the patio. Sounded like a good idea to me, because I remember whenever we put up declarations for Christmas and that was pretty fun.

We live in a very pretty part of North East Portland. It is so pretty in fact that Mom likes to take me out on the patio and sing a song called, "Popcorn Popping on the Apricot Tree" with me. So me and Mom thought it would be good to plant some flowers on the patio. We bought some flowers at the Home Depot near our house. We got some daffodils, lillies, and tulips. Some of them were already flowers, others were bulbs that Dad said would grow into flowers, but I've never seen a lightbulb do that.

I was really excited to help Mom with her hobby. I tried to dig a hole to put the flowers in on the patio but the concrete was too hard so we decided to put them into a big barrel we filled with dirt. Dirt, I've discovered, is pretty fun to put your toes in.

I don't know if you've ever planted flowers but it is not easy work. First you have to figure out how you want to arrange the lightbulbs to grow. Then you have to dig in the dirt with your shovel. Then you have to lick the shovel. Then you have to wrestle with Mom. After that you have to put the flowers in the dirt. Then you have to water the flowers which is really hard work so you have to get an occasional drink from the water can. And of course all that work makes you hungry so you have to eat some dirt. Dirt, by the way, is not very tasty. When you have everything planted you have to make sure that all of the flowers are working ok. Then you play with Mom some more.

It is fun to grow things. Like Mom is growing a little baby in her tummy. This week we found out that it is a my little sister Regan Nicole. (I think we got her at Home Depot too.)
