Almost a YEAR later!!

The date of my last post was Feb 2010. Well here it is, the end of Jan 2011. Guess I should begin updating our blog again. A year off is a significant period of time. Lots has happened.

The most important thing that happened to us in 2010 was Griffin Banks Young. What a stud he is. He was born August 3rd 2010. He's the only one of my kids that was born without being induced. Here I was, my forth kid, and I had no idea I was in labor. He was my smallest at 8lbs 7oz, but is by far my biggest now. He's almost 6 months old is in 12 month clothes. Griffy has the greatest smile and he shares it freely with everyone. I just love that kid!

Alston continues to be all american boy. He LOVES anything sports related. He constantly asks to watch football on tv and will play catch with anyone willing to throw him a ball. Alston graduated to a big boy bed and has done pretty well. We do get lots of visits throughout the night, but he's worth it.

Rilee started Kindergarten this year. She LOVES it. I think she was in school only a few weeks before she already had a "boyfriend". Jason tried to put a stop to it, but I'm not sure he was to successful :). She also started soccer for the first time. She loved it. I think her main talent lies in gymnastics. She's pretty fantastic.

Taylor is in FIRST GRADE!! Who knew I was even old enough to have a first grader. Scary!! But she loves it. She is soooo super smart. She loves the independence of being at school all day and having an opportunity to learn. She's a sponge when it comes to learning. Taylor is also our little athlete. She's a perfectionist, which on the field/court, is a double edge sword. She does great in any activity she's involved in!

As for Jason and I, well we are doing great. Body of Health is continually growing. We have 7 massage therapists that we rent space out to. They are a huge asset to the clinic. I feel like we do the same thing everyday with taking care of kids and the clinic, but it works. We have fun...that's what counts right?!?!?

Passed out at the clinic.

They won't be able to do this much longer. There was barely any room to move!

The numbers will be even....

so we will STOP there.

August 2nd (if not before) we will be adding our fourth and FINAL baby to the family. Most of you know I have an issue with odd numbers. In fact, we specifically choose our wedding the day that it was, just so that it would consist of even numbers (8-16-2002). So it was no surprise that once we had Alston, there would be another baby to follow. We just weren't so sure it would be SO soon :)

We are all super excited, but kind of afraid of what four will bring. Alston is proving to be just like his sisters and is a mover and a shaker. It will be fun :)

Anyways, that's our newest news. I promise to get some pictures up here. You will be so surprised at how big my kiddos are. Pretty dang cute :)

Update

We had a couple of fantastic parenting moments with the girls on Sunday that just have to be shared. Jason wrote a blog post about it on his blog, so follow this link and check it out. It's SUPER funny, but AMAZINGLY accurate :)

I'm afraid we are in trouble!

Is this Barak Obama?

As we approach the end of the summer the girls are out of day camps, classes, etc. So we have been trying to find things for them to do around the clinic that they might think are interesting. We have a bunch of old magazines and newspapers that have collected from our lobby and so I thought it would be fun to introduce them to the idea of collage building. I explained that they could cut out pictures of things that they liked or recognized that they wanted to put in their collage. They thought this was a lot of fun for a couple of reasons, not the least being that they get to cut stuff up to their little hearts' content and make a huge mess. Mandy and I were able to get some work done during all of this too with very little supervision required.

At one point I heard the girls talking about finding a picture of President Barak Obama that they could cut out to put in their collages. I thought that wouldn't be hard since most of the magazines were old issues of Time. Rilee, however, found a picture of our Commander & Chief in Health magazine. She brought it over and asked: "Dad, is this a good picture of Obama?"

Here is what she showed me:

I've heard him called an "Uncle Tom" before but this was entirely new.
