Bean-Wads

Rilee loves to blow in one end of a straw while Jason or I blows in the other. She likes the way it makes her cheeks puff up.

We were having a hard time getting her to eat her rice and beans at Baja Fresh and Jason had a great idea. He stuck a bean in one end of the straw and blew it into her mouth. It was seriously one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. Rilee loved it and would eat everything he blew to her :) . I'm sure it looked disgusting and people all around us thought that we were terrible parents to teach our children this. But it was one of those moments. One of the times when you just let loose and have fun with the kids the way you wished adults did when you were younger.

FREE DALE AND THOMAS POPCORN

When we took our Girls Only trip to NYC a few months back, my sister introduced me to some of the best popcorn I've ever had. These guys have it down!!! We're talking, popcorn, chocolate, peanut butter, toffee...the list goes on and on. They have awesome combinations and varieties to satisfy ANYONE. It was one of Oprah's favorite things, if you are a fan of her show.

Imagine my SURPRISE this morning when I had an e-mail from my mom telling me I could get some for FREE (you have to pay $5.90 for S&H). I immediately ordered, right before going to the gym :) Anyways, go to their website http://www.daleandthomaspopcorn.com/ and on the right hand side of your screen you'll see a little box that says "looking for free popcorn". Click there and get yours ordered. I'm not sure how many per household you can get, but you better believe I'm going to try and get Jason, Taylor and Rilee some...cuz I'm not sharing :)

Jason claims to have shot one with the pellet gun, but they all ended up flopping themselves over the fence into the blackberry bushes on the other side.

Nails, Nails and more Nails

On one of Jason's days off we did some chores, which eventually led us to Clackamas Town Center. The girls love to play on the foam toys there in the mall and it provides Jason and I some time to just sit and talk.

For Jason's graduation, he got me pedicures. I am blessed to get a pedicure every other week. YEAH!!!! So I decided that while the kids played, I would go upstairs to a salon there and get pampered. Apparently the girls finished playing before I did and they all came to find me.

It was amazing to me to see the joy that these two girls bring to people. All they did was walk in the front of the salon and people started beaming. People who had just been complaining about this or that, quickly changed their tune to a happier note.

Boy, do these girls know what to do when they walk into a place like this. They walked over to the shelves holding all the polish colors, pointed to the ones they wanted and the hopped up into a chair. No prompting at all on any of this. Jason is in trouble...these girls are going to cost him some $$$$. Too fun!!

Birthdays and More

This summer has flown by. July, August, September and October contain birthdays for everyone in our family and our anniversary. It seems that everything just snuck (is that a word)up on us this year.

July 18th, Taylor turned 3. We had a great birthday party for her here, which I deleted the pictures from...so you'll just have to believe me that it happened. Somewhere in the 20's of July we had a joint birthday party for the girls with their friends. We had a pizza party at Papa's Pizza. It was fabulous. No set up, no clean up, no cooking food...except cupcakes. It was great.

August 14th, Rilee turned 2. When I asked her what she wanted for dinner, she couldn't really decided. So Taylor suggested Rice and Beans (Baja Fresh), which Rilee quickly agreed to. I was totally up for McDonald's, Pizza, something more like what you'd expect a 2 year old to want...but no, Baja Fresh it was.

August 16th was our 5th anniversary. Usually this is considered a milestone anniversary. Ours could not have been more boring. Like I said, things just crept up on us this year. We did exchange some pretty awesome gifts...I gave Jason his as soon as I bought it. Anyone that knows me and gift giving knows that I can not hold on to a present to save my life. So Jason got his a week early, a new Bulova watch. The gifts for the 5th year are Wood and Silverware...so I got him SILVER that he WEARS :) He did the same 2 weeks after our anniversary date as he had a necklace customized for me. LOVE IT!!

September 6th, I turned 28. We did lunch at McGrath's. It was great. Jason and I have celebrated every one of my birthdays, since we've started dating, at McGrath's. The rest of the day was full of mom and wife stuff....birthday's are just different when you have kids.

I think that catches us up on all the major things that have taken place. We have next month to look forward too...October 29th is Jason's 30th birthday!! WOW!!!
